Abstract:Lessing believes that modern Western social contract theory contains a triple dilemma, namely, the conflict between the stability of the contract and the variability of political life, the contradiction between the forces that maintain the unity of the community and the forces that divide the communities, and the internal forces of the community. Divisive trend. Aiming at this triple dilemma, Lessing divides the perfection of human nature into two states: elementary and advanced. The primary state of humanity perfection, that is, primary morality, is the specific virtues of a specific community, such as patriotism, integrity, justice, piety, and compliance with customs. It is they that maintain the unity of the community and create opposition between the communities. Ultimate morality is the virtue itself based on the rational nature of human beings. It regards all human beings as equal personalities, surpassing all limited human communities. People standing on the standpoint of ultimate morality must use the goodness of ultimate morality to guard and restrict the goodness of primary morality, and because they can't appear in any community, they constitute an implicit community.
