Abstract: Objective: To explore the relationship between psychological safety and job burnout, and the mediating effect of sickness presenteeism and self-efficacy in this relationship. Methods: Totally 1159 clinical nurses were tested by Psychological Safety Scale, Sickness Presenteeism Questionnaire, Chinese version of Nursing Profession Self-efficacy Scale and Maslach Burnout Inventory-general Survey. Results: ①Correlation analysis showed that psychological safety was negatively associated with sickness presenteeism and job burnout, and positively associated with self-efficacy; ②The structural equation model analysis showed that psychological safety affected job burnout indirectly through sickness presenteeism, psychological safety affected job burnout indirectly through self-efficacy, and psychological safety affected job burnout indirectly through the chain mediating effect of sickness presenteeism and self-efficacy. Conclusion: Sickness presenteeism and self-efficacy partially played a serial mediating role between psychological safety and job burnout.
