On May 23rd solstice 27th, the final of the 14th "challenge cup" of Henan university students extracurricular academic science and technology works competition was held in Henan university of science and technology. Our college won the cup in this competition, and the three teams of our college who went to the final also did well. Among them, a research on “The Difference of Farmers' Sense of Gain in The Process of Targeted Poverty Alleviation -- And Response to the ‘Cliff Effect’” under the guidance of Teacher Tian Fengshao, which was created by the Boya team, won the grand prize and was shortlisted in the national Competition. Created by The Siyuan team and guided by Teacher Tian Fengshao, the work "County Sample of Targeted Poverty Alleviation Practice -- Based on the Field Research of the three Key poverty alleviation Counties in Eastern and Western China" won the second prize in the competition. A study on “the Development of Farmers Professional Cooperatives from the Perspective of Self-organization -- A Case Study of Spontaneous Cooperatives in Huilong Village, Xinxiang”, created by Erudite Duxing team and guided by Teacher Wei Huihui, won the second prize in the competition. In addition, “Research on causes and Countermeasures of Political Apathy of Poverty-stricken Villagers in project System -- Based on Empirical Research of Z village and S Village in Kaifeng，Henan Province” created by Hexin Team，“Why It is Difficult to Realize the Goal of Community Aged Education -- An Action Research Based on Executive Alienation”，created by Guxi Kezhan Team，“Analysis on The Group Characteristics of Party Secretaries and Relevant Influencing Factors for Promotion -- A Case Study of 371 Party Secretaries nationwide” created by Love and Justice team，"Where does Partial Intention Come from? -- A Study on Rural Land Circulation from the Perspective of Farmers" created by the action team won the third prize in the provincial competition.

On May 23, under the leadership of the team leader teacher, the team's instructor and respondent went to the provincial competition site (Henan University of Science and Technology), and they participated in the whole event. In the course of the exhibition, the three works of our college won wide attention from leaders at all levels and students from different schools. The judges who came to visit the exhibition booth also expressed their appreciation for the excellent performance of our students. At the exhibition and debate site, each team presented the research results of the team in a panoramic manner from four aspects: "question proposal", "investigation and design", "analysis of the current situation and inquiry of causes", and "countermeasures and Suggestions". The contestants calmly and confidently responded to the various questions raised by the expert judges and answered them. After the on-site debate, the judges would decide the final result of the provincial competition based on the scientific nature, advancement, practical significance and other factors of the comprehensive works.

These award-winning works are all based on hot social issues. Some of them pay attention to the farmers' sense of gain in the process of targeted poverty alleviation, while others pay attention to the promoting role of self-organized cooperative model in rural revitalization. It shows our students' constantly surpassing and challenging spirits , their character of paying attention to and contributing to the society, as well as their good appearance of being rigorous, realistic, pioneering and innovative. The excellent results are owing to the good academic atmosphere of our college. In recent years, the teachers of our college have guided students to conduct academic discussions and devote themselves to practice. Since the project was set up, the instructors and contestants have been actively involved in social investigation and report writing, and the youth League committee of the school and university has given full support and guarantee to the organization.

It is reported that since its launch in March, the challenge Cup has received a positive response from universities across the province, receiving more than 7,000 works submitted by 85 universities. After being reviewed by experts, 410 works from 65 universities entered the final competition. Our college started this work in October 2018. After going through the stages of expert's guidance on topic selection, recommendation of the college preliminary competition, review of the school's second final, and training on the improvement of works, 7 works were determined to be submitted to the provincial network for evaluation, and 3 works were finally shortlisted for the final examination.
