Abstract: Economic Manuscript in 1857—1858 is the research achievement of Karl Marx based on his 15 golden years’ endeavor. As the first version of Das Kapital, it is extensive and profound, entailing both abundant economic thoughts and rich philosophical views, especially the view of history. In this manuscript, by means of the economic discourse and methodology, Marx illustrated a comprehensive prospect of the historical materialism from three points, that is, the human development and historical forms of society, science & technology and historical development as well as the comparison and contrast among the historical forms of society prior to the capitalist society. Therefore, exploring and restoring the historical view in Marx’s Economic Manuscript in 1857-1858 is full of theoretical and practical significance for us to further enrich and develop the basic theory of Marx’s historical materialism, and to grasp comprehensively the original appearance of the Marx’s historical view.
