From December 23 to 28, 2018, entrusted by the national poverty alleviation publicity and education center of the Poverty Alleviation Office of the State Council, the research group of "Case Study on decapitation of poverty stricken counties" arrived in Xunhua County of Qinghai Province for in-depth investigation. The research group is composed of more than 20 teachers and students, with Professor Wang Laijie as the group leader and Tian Fengshao as the Deputy group leader.

Over the past few days, the research group has conducted in-depth interviews in Xunhua County, township and village by holding seminars at all levels, Department interviews, data checking, field visits, and entering villages and households, and listened to in-depth interviews with county-level leaders, department heads, township leaders, village teams, the first secretary, supporting cadres, and entrepreneurs' representatives, so as to understand in detail the successful practices and experience of poverty alleviation in Xunhua, on-the-spot investigation of Party building leading poverty alleviation, industry poverty alleviation, tourism poverty alleviation and other performance; through household interviews, in-depth communication with farmers, to understand the attitude and views of the poor people.

After intensive investigation, the research group interviewed 5 county-level cadres, held three county-level symposiums, visited, interviewed and collected data from 28 relevant departments of the Party committee and government, completed county-level data collection, 11 village level questionnaires from 4 townships and more than 100 households, collected a large number of first-hand information and completed the expected research objectives.

This project is one of the series of "case studies on poverty stricken counties" carried out by the national poverty alleviation publicity and education center of the Poverty Alleviation Office of the State Council. Then, through data analysis, data processing and theoretical refinement, the research group will deeply study and summarize the experience of poverty alleviation in Xunhua, and strive to provide typical experience and replicable path for the in-depth implementation and successful realization of poverty alleviation, so as to contribute to the realization of poverty alleviation goal in 2020. The results of the research work will form two books:《illustrated China's Poverty Alleviation: the story of Xunhua County》、《the decisive victory 2020: a case study of poverty alleviation in China's counties - volume of Xunhua County》which will be published nationwide to publicize the achievements and experiences of poverty alleviation at home and abroad.
