On the afternoon of October 15, the opening ceremony of the 2019 philosophy Mingde experimental class and the teacher-student forum were held in the second conference room of the college. Relevant leaders of the college, tutors of the experimental class and 12 students of the first experimental class attended the opening ceremony. Zhao Yanfeng, vice president of the college, presided over the ceremony.

Tian Fengshao, vice president of the college, congratulated the students who were selected into the experimental class, and introduced the background and purpose of the philosophy Mingde experimental class based on the direction of higher education reform in the new era and the status and development opportunities of philosophy discipline. First of all, he emphasized the important position of philosophy as a basic discipline, introduced the school running purpose of “reforming the direction of personnel training and strengthening the study of special subject courses” of Mingde experimental class. At the same time, he encouraged Mingde students to cultivate innovative thinking and achieve research-oriented learning, so as to lay a good foundation for future development.

Ye Ping, the person in charge of the experimental class, introduced the relevant situation of the experimental class from the perspective of talent training mode. He said that the college will provide a platform for joint training and foreign exchange for Mingde experimental class, so that students can break through the barriers of disciplines, realize diversified learning and improve their scientific research ability. At the same time, he also put forward ardent expectations for the students of the experimental class. he hope that the students of the first experimental class can give full play to the main role, actively participate in the discussion and study, exchange feedback in time after class, and make progress together with classmates, so as to create an excellent brand of “philosophy Mingde experimental class”.

Zhao Yanfeng, vice president of the college, introduces the teaching operation and curriculum arrangement of the experimental class, and puts forward a series of suggestions and requirements for the academic planning of the experimental class. He encouraged everyone to grasp the basic theory of philosophy firmly, read more classics, participate in academic exchanges, interdisciplinary learning, and improve their comprehensive quality; at the same time, they should learn scientific research methods, participate in scientific research training, and improve their scientific research ability.

After that, the tutors of the experimental class communicated with the students in the experimental class. Students speak actively, ask for learning methods, and express their expectations and goals for future learning. Hua Jialu, a student in the experimental class, said: “philosophy is a subject I love very much. Mingde experimental class also provides a good platform for us who love philosophy, so that I can broaden my horizons and think deeply. Opportunities are accompanied by challenges, and I am ready to face these challenges and constantly improve myself.”

Philosophy Mingde experimental class is an important measure for our college to further deepen the comprehensive reform of education and teaching, practice the undergraduate teaching concept of “based on the foundation, four returns”, innovate the talent training mode, and create the first-class undergraduate education. Its purpose is to train top-notch talents with solid basic knowledge, innovative spirit, scientific research ability and broad prospects in philosophy and other humanities. The year 2020 is the first year of the implementation of the “Mingde plan” of philosophy. The opening of the experimental class of philosophy Mingde has also made an important contribution to the development and improvement of basic discipline education, the construction of “double first-class” and the cultivation of high-quality talents.
