In order to further strengthen the construction of the counselors' team and enhance their theoretical and practical research ability, on the morning of October 30, Professor Pu Qingping, Secretary of the Party committee of the school of environment, Chongqing University, special researcher of the National Research Center for college students' Ideological and political development, and communication evaluation expert of the National Social Science fund, was invited to the Mingde forum of our university to make a speech entitled " How to Improve the Scientific Research Ability of Counselors" .The deputy secretaries of the party committees and all undergraduate counselors of the colleges attended this lecture. The lecture was hosted by Xiao Yan, deputy director of the Student Affairs Office and deputy director of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee of our school.

Pu Qingping described the basic abilities that scientific research should have from five aspects: the determination of scientific research topics, the reading and review of literature, the level and logic of research, the research methods and perspectives, the research team and cooperation, and guided everyone to innovate research topic selection in combination with the hot topics of the times under diversified channels.Search for experts’ literature in a specialized method to locate research characteristics, clarify the analysis level under the rigorous thinking to determine the research logic, practice repeatedly from the systematic perspective, summarize and select research methods , consult and learn from various parties under the collaborative spirit to build a research team.In addition, based on his own scientific research experience and related cases, he taught the counselors about academic paper writing, project application and other related knowledge in terms of topics, literature reviews, content, and format.He also suggested that everyone should be diligent in writing and continuously improve their academic expression skills. We should know how to learn from others, and strive to improve the level of professional knowledge. We should pay attention to details and be keen to seize the opportunities of scientific research and innovation.We should repeatedly polish our works to they are "smooth in structure", "clear in point of view" and "wonderful in language".

        It is reported that this lecture is sponsored by the Student Affairs Department and Student Affairs Office of the School Party Committee, and undertaken by the counselor's studio of "Research and Theory"."Research and Theory " counselor studio is the first batch of counselor studio cultivation and construction projects of Henan University. It is co-hosted by the School of Philosophy and Public Management and the School of Environment and Planning of Henan University. Since its establishment in April 2020, it has been committed to promoting the construction of professional counselor team.This lecture is one of the measures to improve the professional ability of counselors in our school, such as learning ability, working ability and scientific research ability. In the next step, it will provide more communication and learning platforms for promoting the overall construction of the counselor team and the team building of the student-teacher- scientific research community model.
