On the afternoon of January 3, Professor Shen Jie, the dean of the Department of Social Welfare and doctoral supervisor of Japan Women’s University, was invited to our college to carry out academic exchange activities, introducing the latest trends and challenges in Japan’s pension policy and making a comparative analysis on the problems of Social welfare and pension service in China and Japan. This symposium was presided over by Ling Wenhao, a distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor of our college. Teachers of labor and social security major of our college participated in this symposium.

Professor Shen first introduced the historical evolution of Japan's pension policy, focusing on the analysis of the latest trends in Japan's current pension services and nursing insurance system, as well as the existing problems. Then, from the perspective of international comparison, she summarized the applicability of Japanese experience in China and put forward relevant suggestions to promote the healthy development of China's elderly care services. Finally, Professor Shen Jie and the teachers of our college had an in-depth exchange and discussion on the development of China's nursing insurance system, the supply of multi-level elderly care services, the promotion strategy of active aging and other issues. The atmosphere was warm.

Although the symposium was short, the discussion was in-depth, and the participating teachers expressed that they had a deeper understanding of Japan's pension policy. It is beneficial to broaden teachers' academic vision, pay attention to the frontiers of disciplines, and improve the ability and level of academic innovation of our college.
